DOST-III and SDO Nueva Ecija officials and staff during the turn-over of the science laboratory apparatuses to the 5 senior high schools in Nueva Ecija
Five schools in Nueva Ecija were provided with science laboratory apparatuses under the Upgrading of Schools Laboratory Facilities project of the Expanded Implementation of Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (eCEST) Program. This project aims to boost the knowledge and interest of senior high school students in science, particularly in the conduct of investigatory projects, and student research. The project is also designed to encourage more students to take up a STEM strand curriculum.
This project was in accordance with the objective of DOST-CEST to empower communities to alleviate poverty through Science and Technology interventions in the area of education. The 1.5-million-peso worth of science laboratory apparatuses was successfully awarded to the school beneficiaries namely; Zaragoza National High School, Pantabangan National High School, Gabaldon Vocational Agricultural School, Gen. Mamerto Natividad National High School, and Peñaranda National High School.
July 25, 2019 – The turn-over ceremony of laboratory apparatuses organized by the School Division Office of Nueva Ecija was conducted at the Zaragoza National High School (ZNHS). The activity was attended by the School Division Superintendent, Dr. Ronaldo A. Pozon; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Johanna N. Gervacio, and Dr. Ericson S. Sabacan; DOST-Nueva Ecija Provincial Director, Dr. Orlando G. Anselmo; DOST-Nueva Ecija Science Research Specialist II, Heinrich Villanueva; CEST-Project Staff, Engr. John Lerry B. Bautista; and the school principals of the 5 beneficiary schools.
