The Department of Science and Technology in Region 3 has launched this year’s 15th Philippine National Health Research System week celebration at the Clark Marriot Hotel at the Clark Special Economic Zone in Pampanga.

The five-day event which started last August 8 and will conclude on August 12 brings together health researchers,  academe, government and other stakeholders to exchange insights on significant health issues facing the country today, thus its theme, “Health Research: Responding to Challenges to National Recovery and Resiliency.”

His Excellency President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr. was the keynote speaker at the formal opening of the event last August 11. He lauded the efforts of the health research community during the pandemic.

Various activities such as plenary sessions, oral and paper presentation of completed health researches, policy pitches, writeshops and exhibits have been lined up to mark the event.

The PNHRS Week celebration is in accordance with Presidential Proclamation  No. 1309 of June 2007, designating the second week of August of every year as its official observance.

The Central Luzon Health Research and Development Consortium (CLHRDC) , a partnership pf 24 private and public institutions involved in health research and management in Region 3 is the main implementer of the event with support from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD-DOST) and the Department of Health Central Luzon Center for Health Development.
