From humble beginnings, the I-Provide Health Food Manufacturing (IPHFM) located in Tarlac City has now grown into a profitable and sustainable business which its owner, Mr. Abelardo T. Balisi attributes to the assistance provided by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) thru its Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

“Yung mga food safety, GMP trainings na naibigay sa amin napakalaking tulong para mas maayos ang sistema namin sa production, para maiwasan yung contamination. Pati yung leadership training napakalaki ng naitulong sa amin kung paano dapat mag-manage ng business at ng tao na hindi naman kailangang gumastos ng malaki. Maganda ang ganitong assistance para sa aming mga SMEs” says Mr. Balisi.

The firm was one of the SETUP projects visited by DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr. recently when he met with DOST Region 3 regional and provincial officers.

Mr. Balisi is also a recipient of a leadership training-program provided by DOST in partnership with Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) have certainly boosted Mr. Balisi’s knowledge on the overall management of business and people, and DOST- Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) Level-Up Innovation Government Support for Technologies Against the Spread of COVID-19 (LIGTAS-COVID-19) Purchase Order Financing.

IPHFM products are sold nationwide and continuously conducts research and development activities to expand its product line.
